Will the opener work during a power outage? How frequently will service be necessary? What types of controls will I need and will they work with my opener? How to choose the proper commercial operator for your application!
Many gate operator manufacturers have quality products if the proper operator is used in the proper locations and all specifications are met and the installation and maintenance are followed as recommended.
We typically find that due to initial cost issues a lighter duty operator was installed. This is never a good option! What you save in the purchase will quickly be gone in the service of the operator.
Many time the installer will try to cut corners or will not be familiar with the proper installation of the operator. We see improper wiring, poor wire termination, and improper mounting locations daily! Please make certain the the installer you have chosen is qualified and knowledgable with the operator you have purchased.
All operators require service sooner or later. Customers that wonder why their operators don't consistently work usually have one or more of the problems above. In many application the operator must have routine service. This mean monthly or quarterly service inspections, lubrication, and small item replacements.
